Key dates for British Rowing in 2001
The British National Trials took place in Belgium on 9-11 April. There were four Zurich Rowing World Cup regattas. The international season began with the opening World Cup regatta in Princeton, New Jersey, USA on 27-28 April, the first World Cup regatta to take place outside Europe. The International Rowing Federation (FISA) changed the timing for the three 2001 European Zurich Rowing World Cup regattas resulting in a two week, rather than a three week, gap between competitions in order to attract more crews from outside Europe. As Henley Royal Regatta fell in between the Vienna and Munich World Cups, the consequence was that no British crew competed at all three European World Cup regattas.
