Olivia Whitlam

Olivia was selected in the women’s pair for the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games and finished 6th.

Olivia became World U23 Champion in July 2007 winning gold in the pair with Heather Stanning. At Essen International Regatta in 2007, she won the Under 23 women’s pair event. She also won the C Final at the World Cup Regatta in Amsterdam.

In the 2008 World Cup series she raced in the eight finishing 5th and in the pair finishing 12th.

Domestically Olivia has also been successful, winning the women’s senior coxed four event at the Women’s Henley Regatta in 2005. She has also won seven BUSA medals, including two gold medals between 2004 and 2006.

Olivia started rowing after being spotted by her school rowing coach for being tall.

She has finished her degree in Environmental Science at Nottingham University.

Her interests include reading and watching films. Her main hobby is horse riding which she has done since she was five years old. She has a younger sister who also rows.
