Mark has been selected as crew coach of the men’s double for the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games where they won a Bronze medal.
He has worked with the Men’s Senior team since 2005. Mark is currently coaching the Men’s double of Rowbotham and Wells who raced to a Bronze medal at the 2006 Eton World Championships and were gold medal winners at the first World Cup in Linz 2007.
Mark combines this work with a role as Performance Development Coach for the World Class Start Programme with specific duties, including managing the World Class Start centre at Reading and helping the development of a sculling pathway from World Class Start through U23’s to Senior level.
Mark began working for GB Rowing as a Talent Development Coach setting up the Reading World Class Centre in 2002, coaching Gregory, Townsend, Lucas and Page through to U23 and Senior representation.
Prior to this, Mark coached and was a teacher of History at Evesham and the University of Bristol.
